JOSE CARLOS COLOMINA


Jose Carlos has a university degree (MSc level) in Civil Navy (Nautical Section) and Master Mariner license.

He sailed in bulk and cement carriers, oil tankers and the last years in Ro-Ro ships, to which he dedicated most of his experience at sea, what contributed to provide him a wide knowledge of the operational and navigational characteristics of this type of traffic.

He is proud of his stay in the Spanish Navy, where he rendered his military service as Second Lieutenant.

After leaving the sea service, he worked as a shipping agent and stevedoring coordinator, taking care of the agency and loading operations of reefer, ro-ro and container vessels. He later worked as Petroleum Inspector until he was recruited by Felix Patiño and initiated his carrier as Marine Surveyor in a big national insuring group, where he attended all type of inspections such as condition, valuation or damage surveys in most types of ships.

After 7 years Jose Carlos joined Felix in a new professional adventure, founding MARINSUR in 2004, where he continued to improve his experience as Marine Surveyor in all types of inspections, specialising also in P&I claims. He is also in charge of inspections of cargo areas and their closing means, having credited to perform water tightness testing of hatch covers by means of ultrasonic equipment.

Jose Carlos speaks fluent English.
